The "temperament" of ceramics: the harder the better
Feldspar porcelain is the most beautiful, but its strength is only about 100 MPa, so it can only be used for veneers; lithium disilicate glass ceramics are 300-400 MPa, which is enough for front tooth inlays; the third generation of high-transparent zirconia reaches 1,200 MPa, which can still let light in, and the back tooth bridge can also save the decoration porcelain. Remember one sentence: ask whether the front teeth are transparent first, and ask whether the back teeth are hard first.
The five most common mistakes after oral scanning
1 The edge line is scanned fuzzy-spray a thin layer of dry powder and re-scan for two seconds, which is ten times faster than the later model repair.
2 The interproximal contact is too tight-in the design software, the automatic contact is cut off by 0.05 mm, and the patient will not complain about the stuck teeth.
3 The tool path is too rough and broken-directly reduce the finishing tool diameter to 0.4 mm and reduce the feed speed by 20%.
4 Sintering temperature rises too fast - high-transparency zirconium needs 8 hours of curve even in a hurry, otherwise the transparency will drop sharply.
5 The glaze color is too thick - after applying the glaze liquid once, use a brush to "rub" off the excess part so that the color is natural.
Implants are not "screwed in"
Titanium itself will not rust, but the surface treatment determines when the bone will fall in love with it. The SLActive surface can reach the ideal stability value in six weeks, while traditional SLA needs twelve weeks. The clinic tells patients "come one less time to remove the stitches", which is more convincing than advertising.
Resins also have ID cards
The long-term temporary crown resin printed by the chair has obtained Class II certificates from many countries, which means it can be legally worn for more than one year. The strength is 90 MPa, the water absorption rate is less than 25 micrograms per cubic millimeter, and it can be delivered in two minutes after printing and polishing. Don't use old resins that can only be worn for three months. You can't save a few money, but you may lose complaints.
Leave complexity to yourself and give simplicity to patients
When a dentist can casually say "This is the third generation of high-transmittance zirconium, the transmittance is close to 50%, and it is strong enough for you to bite ribs", the patient's trust value will immediately increase. When the technician delivers the goods, he will attach a small card with the sintering temperature and transmittance level, so that the clinic will not choose the wrong model next time it replenishes the stock.
One-minute action list
• Ask your supplier: What is the sintering shrinkage rate of this batch of zirconium oxide?
• Open the design software and reduce the default contact value of the adjacent surface by 0.05 mm.
• Print this short article and post it in the design room so that newcomers can understand the difference in materials at a glance.
Know a little about materials, one less rework, and one more repeat customer.
